Data Protection, Backup, and Security

Schoolbook implements reasonable technical and organizational measures to help protect user data, including secure authentication and encrypted connections. No system can guarantee complete protection against every possible incident.

Users acknowledge that:

• Data loss may occur due to system failure, cyberattacks, user error, or unforeseen events.
• Schoolbook does not guarantee full data preservation or recovery in every scenario.
• Users remain responsible for keeping their own backups when their operations require it.

Schoolbook shall not be liable for:

• Data loss, corruption, or unavailability.
• Unauthorized access caused by compromised user credentials.
• Malware, ransomware, or cybersecurity incidents beyond reasonable control.

Data Breach Response

In the event of a data breach, Schoolbook will take reasonable steps to contain and mitigate the issue and notify affected users within a reasonable timeframe.

Data Ownership, Access, and Portability

All data entered into the system remains the property of the user.

Users have the right to:

• Download their data in available formats such as CSV or Excel.
• Request deletion of their data.
• Access and review their stored information.

Account Termination and Data Deletion

Users may request account termination at any time.

Upon termination:

• Data may be permanently deleted after a grace period such as 30 to 90 days.
• Users are responsible for exporting their data before deletion.
